Anna Luker

Dave Nitsche

Back in 2002, David picked up his camera and just decided to dedicate 40-60 hours a week to shooting photography. Starting with family events like most of us he moved his interests to more conceptually based photographs. His main focus is showing human emotions through inanimate objects. Really intriguing photographs and not really what I thought conceptual photography would look like but its closer then what I thought I was doing with "conceptual pictures" haha.

He had his first show after only shooting for 18 months. Which is very impressive. "Dave’s work has been featured in over a hundred magazines world wide (Digital Photo (UK), Popular Photography (US), Unique Image (Taiwan), Digi Photo (Romania), Shutterbug (US), Popular Photography (China), Australian Photographer (AU) magazines to mention just a few), he’s had shows around the globe and is considered a fresh voice in photography."

Conceptual 3 - "Last Drop"

7 Sins - "Lust"
This series is very interesting. With the use of the glass as a representation of human figures to portray one of the seven deadly sins. Very creative to say the least but there is a lot for me I took out of this. Comparing humans to such clear delicate object almost to say as if we ourselves are just delicate and fragile. then on top of that the position on the way this piece is staged. The lighting is magnificent and his use of color really catches your attention and captures you.

LittleMan - "Depression"
Use of a mini figurine to depict human emotions and things we go through. Very eerie again since there happens to be no face. Making the identity unknown. The use of lighting adds to the subject matter and the perspective away from the toilet make it seems more like an endless pit rather than something we all use. Or maybe the toilet makes it relatable since we all use that? Maybe we all have experienced sadness/mental sickness/ depression at some point in our lives?

Very inspired by his work. I hope to maybe take more ideas like these into my final project!
