Bradley Manley Weekly Artist Post 5

Curran Hatleberg

Curran Hatleberg is Brooklyn photographer, His photography emphasizes on urban areas and the people that occupy them. His photos captures real life and true emotion. His photos tend to have people in them. Some of his subject tend to get up close and personal while others are taken from long range as if they dont know they're being photograph.

Curran Hatleberg is able to cover all ranges of contact with strangers. Hes able to get in their personal space and unveiling their comfort in front of the camera and capture their true reactions and emotions. He is also able to step back into the shadows and capture moments from far away. Either way his subjects seem very comfortable in front of the camera.

These photos show me how effective a portrait can be from all ranges. Each picture is shot from a different range yet has the same personal feeling for me. I can still sense emotion through his images. I also notice the subtle details he add to his photos, from the red dress, to the puppies, and the girls face. These are amazing photos.

  2. These images are very interesting. Although fairly basic images, the framing and color contrast throughout the images draw you in. The sense of reality throughout the images is refreshing and makes them very relatable.
