Bradley Manley Weekly Artist Post 1

Arron Huey

1. Arron Huey is National Geographic photographer who travels around the world. He captured these particular images in Afghanistan. Huey usually shoots in the daytime and gather close up horizontal shots. He shoots a variety of things from the citizens of Afghanistan, to the vast landscape.

2. Looking at not the present photos but the series overall, Huey tends to use empathy to give the viewer another perspective into this world. His subjects are usually standing in rebel or using drugs. This give the viewer a close up in every day life of these people. The dramatic lighting adds to the sense of melancholy.

3. Huey's approach to these photos gives me a better perspective of the aspect of war. The images show the heartache and devestation that the people have to deal with. The shots put me directly in their situation allowing me to see the truth on what occurs in these areas and the people whop are affected. The images are outstanding through their compostion, lighting, and its use of emotion.
