Parker Fitzgerald

Parker Fitzgerald,

is a travel and portrait photographer. Portland based, his work does look like something Portlandia would have put a bird on it. His dreamlike scenes in his book Kinfolk people are shown in their environments but with the bare minimum showing. They resemble works from Caravaggio using chiaroscuro to highlight very specific parts of the person's environment. He places the subjects in front of a table with various fruit and vegetables. Each probably representing personality traits or some connection with the subject to the food on the table. The highlight of importance also comes from the complete black background.Only showing about a third of each subjects body.
