Dimitris Theocharis and Quentin Shih

Dimitris Theocharis

these photos relay to me the just what can be accomplished when you have full control of camera triad and photo composition. I have been told that the best place to put the subject you wish to gain focus is, not in the middle but, off to the side. In both photos the main focus is directed off to the sides of the piece. though in the bottom photo, the subject is placed in the middle of the frame our vision is drawn to motion blur to the right and left sides of the piece. this artist also creating numerous nudes that i could use as a reference when i am creating nudes.

Quentin Shih

i chose to pick the photos of this artist because of the voids they possess. in each photo Shih uses the contrasts of light and darkness, as well as, the contrast of color to convey a sense of fleeting hope and loneliness. the similar composition of these photos tells me that the creator possesses full control of the scene and its elements. with his control he becomes not only a photographer, but he is now  director, directing the audience or viewer to the split of the scene, on the left, to the female subjects located on the right.
