Carrie Mae Weems

Carrie Mae Weems is an interesting photographer that focuses on history.  She works in several series that develop theories on family relationships, gender roles, the histories of racism, sexism, class and various political systems and gives an interesting prospective by sometimes using words in her photographs. Her work has been featured everywhere from the Whitney to the Chrysler Museum of Art.
