Erika Larsen is a National Geographic documentary photographer. She is documenting the Nez Perce Native American culture in relation to the significance of the horse. The photos are featured in the March 2014 issue of National Geographic. The first photo is a portrait of the horse Sikem. The horse is known to be a part of the family in Nez Perce culture and are introduced early in childhood. The photos show how the horses are appreciated. The photos are clear and sharp with various ranges of depths of field. The colors are vivid but true to the subject.
