Jerry Uelsmann is an American photographer who wanted his photographs to take a viewer's eyes on a journey throughout the frames. He kept his ideas so vague in his work because he did not want literal interpretation being made by his viewers. He does his work in black and white, contrasting artificial with organic elements, for example, putting eyes on trees. He also makes sure to have more than one focal point. I found his work to be very interesting because it screams out "making the photograph". Not only is he taking the photographs, but he's placing things where they don't belong to make something interesting, but still enjoyable to look out. A lot of people would attempt to do something like this and it look straight out of photoshop. It also shows his ability to be creative and to think outside the box when making these photographs. I appreciate that he doesn't want things to be literal because his pieces can have a million stories to go with them.
