Bruce Davidson
website
After becoming LIFE magazine's freelance photographer, Bruce Davidson took many pictures of famous people and events throughout history. Along with this work, his most famous photograph's are in the series' "The Dwarf," "Brooklyn Gang" and "Subway." His point of view portrayed in his photographs are thoughtful and clever, but also have a snapshot aesthetic about them. His "Subway" series is by far my favorite. The series is overflowing with tension and emotion. It is easy for the viewer to imagine the emotions of the subjects, as well as the tension that must have existed in the photographer's position to be making pictures of such extreme and claustrophobic situations. There is an awesome book just on that series in the art library. Check it out!
