Sentences on Conceptual Art by Sol Lewitt

The concept of a work of art may involve the matter of the piece or the process in which it is made.

To me this means that sometimes the process behind how you make something is just as important as the end product. The way you go about to create a piece of art may be the purpose behind the art. The material that a piece is made of may also be important to the concept. There is this group that makes there own paper out of old military uniforms and then they print art on them. It is a way to cope with what the soldiers went through in there service.
