the following photos by Peter Hujar are high in contrast and simplistic in setup. Many of the portraits he created were done in an open and empty room with only a chair. his use of light adds contrast and emotion to the photos. it is in this manner the subjects seem to not be the focus but an accessary, accentuating the light, setting and form.
