Manuel Vazquez

Manuel Vazquez is an artist who shows a common interest in the theatrical aspect of the city life and it's spaces. His photographs are seen to show a very strong narrative component. His photographs are very eye catching to me. The first thing that pops out to me are the strong contrasts between the shadows and the highlights. Even with the third image shown below, there is a very dominate difference in the lights and darks that is not overwhelming, but then the pop of colors going horizontal across the composition are just beautifully put together. The first example also helped give a little inspiration for my concept of "identity". I thought it was very interesting seeing all these people, but not being able to see their faces well.
