Derek Henderson
These images are all from a series the artist calls "The terrible boredom of paradise." I very much appreciate the documentary nature he is taking to these images but at the same time, he is not afraid to go off center and not straight on as seen in the last image. I also very much like the manner in which he is capturing portraits of people, but he is leaving a lot of space for the to exist in, and they are defined by it. I also think the nature of the series lends well to his editing style. Most of the pictures seem to be slightly less saturated than most, and so this boredom feeling does come across.
