"McLain has seen photography fads come and go, but being a photographer for him will always mean two things: passion and hard work."
This should speak to all of us that no matter what people have to say about photographers we do have to work just as hard as any of people in the art/working industry. Being a businessperson is equally important to a photographer’s career as being a good artist, and in McLain’s words, “it’s hard as hell to make it.”
Due to some mild physical pain in his shoulders attributed to the heavy equipment of photography he has switched a Sony mirrorless camera. Since the switch "...McLain has also discovered to his delight a whole new range of lighting possibilities. Since the Sony mirrorless cameras’ sensitive sensors can render stunning images even in low light, he’s been able to expand where and what he can capture on camera."
Which in my opinion definitely shows in his landscapes and portrait photography!

Overall, Mr Mclain has worked a couple of exerts for The National Geographic, Commercial, Video, and Cinematography. Currently he is still working, a husband and father of two. He lives in the gorgeous state of Maine.
Yay a successful artist and commericial photographyer! Also, yay mirrorless! This commentary does not help any real meaningful conversation, but it brings a smile to my face nonetheless. I have, in addition to my Canon DSLR, a very cheap Nikon mirrorless that I bring for scouting locations, street photography, and event photography. My next big investment won't be an upgrade to my Canon, but to my Nikon.
